6/17/2011 10:04:17 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 17:
Various Sikh Organizations, including Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) , Sikh Students’ Federation, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), United Sikh Front, Sikh Intellectual Circle, Sikh Noujawan Sabha, Jammu, DGPC Jammu And Sikhs For Justice have appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Human Rights Organizations to save the life of one Rajinder Singh alias Raju Simblia who was arrested by SIT of J&K Police, probing Chopra Murder Case.
The Sikh organizations alleged that as per SIT Statement in press on June 12, it was learnt that Raju Simblia has become an approver in Chopra murder case and after his statement in court under section 164-A, he has been released. But unfortunately till date he has not been released by SIT team, which has continuously kept Raju Simblia under its illegal custody for the reasons best known to SIT.
Leaders of Sikh Organizations in an emergency meeting held here today under the Chairmanship of Harjinder Singh Raina Sr. Sikh Leader, have expressed its serious concern over the plight of Simblia and have appealed to Sikh community in J&K to unitedly raise their voice for immediate release and safety of Raju.
Sikh Organizations have put question mark on the functioning of SIT, which is applying unconstitutional, inhuman and dubious tactics and it has badly shaken the faith of Sikh Community in present Govt of J&K State.
Sikh organizations have decided to launch peaceful awareness campaign for saving the life of Raju Simblia and seeking justice for all the mentioned cases of murders and innocent killings and have appealed to press, the fourth estate of democracy to impartially probe the said facts and said Sikh community has full faith in press and we hope that press will performed its professional duty without any pressure and interference from certain vested quarters to mislead the masses.
