| JKNPP condemns arrest of party activists at Vijaypur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 17:
In an emergency meeting of the Secretariat of the Panthers Party held at Party Headquarters Gandhi Nagar here today has strongly condemned the Chief Minister for ordering arrest of its leaders on his visit to Vijaypur today.
The activists of the Panthers Party were holding protest demonstration of Raya-Morh demanding Central University Jammu functional immediately which the government has delayed and denied on one or the other pretext. The government is pursuing the police discrimination against the people of Jammu region in this context also.
The Panthers party activists led by Provincial General Secretary Rajesh Padgotra and Khajoor Singh (Sarpanch of Raya Panchayat) were taken into custody by the police on the direction of the Chief Minister after resorting to lathi charge on the protestors. This action of the Congress-NC state government is high authoritarian and dictatorial The panthers party has asked immediate release of its leaders, activist and the people in general who has been arrested by the police
