| Nasir inaugurates stress management helpline at PCR | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, JUNE 17:-
A first of its kind Stress Management helpline was today inaugurated by Minister of State for Home, Nasir Aslam Wani at Police Control Room here.
The 24x7 helpline 0194 -2450451 has been set up to provide round the clock facility cum counselling to the drug addicts and persons indulging in other abnormal behaviour.
The Minister was briefed about the working of the Centre and was informed that the Counselling cum Stress Management Centre has started its working from February 2011 and till date 96 calls have been received from such patients to avail the facility of counselling. Out of these 55 drug addicts were treated at the Centre. He was further informed that 81% of the treated patients were males in the age group of 20 to 40 years. Three females were also treated at the Centre.
Nasir also interacted with drug addict patients undergoing de-addiction treatment at the Centre. He also inspected the recreation facility available at the centre for their faster recovery.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the significance of saving the youth from drug addiction and steps taken by the Government to facilitate de-addiction and recovery of drug abusers. He said that the Centre will be provided with adequate infrastructure including bedding facility. He also announced a music system for the de-addiction centre.
Dr. Mushtafa Kamal, who was present on the occasion, also spoke and suggested various remedies to counter drug addiction.
Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khuda were also present on the occasion.
