JMC intensifies its drive, seals many unauthorized buildings

JAMMU, June 17: Under the instructions from S C Sawhney Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu, the Enforcement Staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer undertook an exclusive drive in areas of Gandhi Nagar and Shastri Nagar against the violations of Master Plan of the area and took mandatory actions against the violators under the provisions of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988.
The team sealed the ground floor of the building which was being converted into commercial hall by Vivek Gupta at 694-A Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, the team even sealed the ground floor of building which was being converted into commercial by Bhagwan Dass Choudhary at Shastri Nagar, Jammu.
Even the team sealed the building of Baljeet Singh S/o Nasib Singh where the residential building has been converted into restaurant namely DUCK DINE at 7 B/C Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The team also sealed the fabricated structure of Suman Dogra which was being put for commercial use at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, and also sealed the premises of Surjeet Singh S/o Sh. Harbans Singh where the showroom under the name of Real Life Sai Gift Gallerly was opened at 9 B/C Gandhi Nagar by converting the residential into commercial one.
The said drive has been conducted in the presence of Duty Magistrate and with the assistance and co-operation of police force from Gandhi Nagar Police Station and from District Police Line, Jammu.
Further, the Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the General Public to refrain from making illegal constructions and get building plans whether commercial / residential approved from Jammu Municipal Corporation otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolition / sealing of the building will be taken.
Besides this, while continuing the drive against the adulteration of milk the Municipal Veterinary Officer alongwith field staff visited the areas of Maheshpura Chowk, Jewel Area, Canal Road, Potali, Subash Nagar, New Plot, Karan Nagar etc. During the drive 125 No of Milk cans were checked, out of which 4 milk cans which were of sub-standard quality / not fit for human consumption were destroyed on spot.
The team had visited the meat shops in the areas of Rehari Colony, Subash Nagar, Janipur, Paloura, Durga Nagar, Bantalab and charged fine from the defaulters for selling the unstamped meat. The team had also lifted 7 stray animals from the areas of Ambphalla, Panjthirthi, Circular Road, Gumat, Jewel Area, Talab Tillo, Muthi, Janipur, Paloura, Trikuta Nagar, Greater Kailash, Shastri Nagar, Gandhi Nagar etc., and impounded the stray animals in Municipal Cattle Pound.
A total fine of Rs. 4550.00 was charged from the erring milk vendors, meat shops, and owners of the stray animals on spot.
