Soz hopeful of evening flights | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, June 18 (KNS): The Pradesh Congress Committee president, Prof Saifuddin Soz Saturday said that chances of evening flights to and fro Srinagar Airport have brightened as the Ministry of Civil Aviation is now seized with this demand from the J&K State. “I’ve been inviting the attention of the Minister of Civil Aviation rather vigorously for provision of this facility since January 2011. I invited attention of Minister Civil Aviation Valiyar Ravi to my memorandum to the Minister Dated 25th January 2011 and March 9, 2011 wherein I had emphasized the fact that It was now possible for the Air India to operate evening flights to and from Srinagar,” Soz said in a statement. “I had also stressed the fact that the Ministry should immediately resume the Srinagar – Dubai flight. I had further stressed the fact that if Srinagar – Dubai flight was connected to Jeddah it would become a profitable proposition for AIR India as large number of people from Kashmir would travel on that route for UMRAH also,” he added.
