| Aziz concerned over shortage of essential commodities | | Landslides block Bani road | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 18 :
Former Minister and Vice President Pradesh Congress Committee Prem
Sagar Aziz has expressed concern over the shortage of essential
commodities in Bani following road blockade due to heavy landslides
triggered by heavy rainfall on the intervening night of June 8 and 9.
The road stretch of nearly 3000 meters, which washed away near
Kardoh and the Bani area, is totally cut off from rest of the country.
He said that the road has not been cleared even after 10 days and
the population of 50 thousand of Bani is suffering hard. There is
acute shortage of essential commodities like ration, pulses,
vegetables, petrol, Kerosene Oil etc. and the prices of these
commodities have been increased many fold.
Aziz urged upon the concerned authorities to deploy sufficient men
power and machinery and clear the road, immediately in the larger
interest of people of Bani.
