Hectic schedule on day-two of wrestling meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 18: The second day of the 30th Junior Boys and 13th Junior Girls Wrestling Championship, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Wrestling Association at Gymnasium Hall of University of Jammu, here today, remained hectic with wrestlers in different weight groups reaching the quarterfinals and semifinals stages. However, two weight groups were decided in boys’ free style event wherein Sukhbir of Haryana and Vishal of Punjab won gold in 50 kg and 66 kg respectively. Since competition in both boys and girls sections were in progress, the final results are expected by tomorrow morning. With tomorrow being the last day of the championship, the organizers have scheduled bouts for late tonight and early tomorrow morning so as to complete the competition by afternoon. The valedictory function of the three-day championship shall take place tomorrow at 5.30 pm wherein Minister for Sports, R S Chib has consented to be the chief guest.
Dushyant chairs AGM
Meanwhile, president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), Dushyant Sharma chaired the Annual General body meeting to discuss various issues pertaining to the promotion of the game at the national level. The meeting besides others was attended by former president, Brij Bhushan Sarwan and heads of various affiliated state units of the Federation.
