| Dhruv’s ton guides Secretary XI’s win in President Cup | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 18: Sailing on brilliant batting performance from skipper, Dhruv Mahajan, General Secretary XI today registered a narrow one-wicket win over Chairman XI in the two-day league tie of the President Cup, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Resuming from overnight score of 105 for three in 21 overs, Secretary XI overhauled the opponent total of 293 making 298 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 75 overs. Dhruv Mahajan, who was playing confidently, first completed his half century and later crossed the century mark. His 122 runs came in 175 deliveries with the help of 13 boundaries. Shashi also batted well and scored 68 runs hitting ten boundaries. However, Irshaad could not compete century and lost his wicket at 45 coming off 67 balls with the help of one six and seven boundaries. Ram Deepak Manhas was most successful bowler who took three wickets for 78 runs in 22 overs while Ram Dayal and Raman Dutta also took three wickets each. Dilllawer Singh bagged one wicket. This match was officiated by Salim-ul-Rehman and Amit Gupta as umpires while Ajay Sharma was scorer.
