The Party through a political resolution, will reprimand the State Government for its double speak on the Panchayat elections. Taking serious exception to politicizing the Panchayat poll which the Government said will be held on non party basis the sources said BJP will take on the Government on the issue. Making the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah direct target of its ire, the sources said BJP has questioned the Government’s claims that the elections will be held on non party basis. This is totally a mockery and the Government ahs played a fraud with the people of the state as Chief Minister during the felicitation functions of Panchs and sarpanchs is on record to say at various places that the elected sarpanches and panches belonged to his party. Terming it a misleading statement the BJP will reiterate its demand of conducting the Panchayat polls in future on party basis, sources said adding that Party has earlier also expressed its resentment against the holding of Panchayat elections on non party basis. The two day state executive meet which will end tomorrow with the concluding speech of Party’s national general secretary (organization) Ram Lal will thought the political resolution discuss the ongoing political situation in the state in the light of the interlocutors report, Justice Sager Ahmed Committee recommendations and Dora certificate issue. Though these resolutions the Party while reiterating its resolve on total integration of J&K with rest of the country will also stress on abrogation of Article 370. It, while cautioning any move of Union and state governments regarding grant of any more concession to the separatists in the state will stress on total integration of J&K with rest of India, sources added. Sources said the BJP which has out rightly rejected the Justice Sageer Ahmed Committee recommendations and interlocutors report on J&K will stress that the recommendations made on the state by its own Parliamentary Study group be taken into consideration. The Party working Committee is meeting for the first time after it suspended its seven MLAs who participated in cross voting in April 13 elections to Legislative Council in favour of Congress and NC candidates. The meeting is being considered crucial in political circles, as the Party will also decide its future strategy after the suspension of seven MLAs. The Party will also bring a separate resolution on rising corruption in the country and endorse the stand taken by Party at national level to fight against the corrupt UPA regime at Centre. The inaugural speech to the executive meet was made by the State president of the Party Shamsher Singh Manhas who also highlighted the priorities before the Party. He made it clear that BJP will not make any compromise on principles and Party is ready to give any sacrifice in this regard.
