Woman among four more held for being part of sex racket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 18: Four more persons, including a woman, were today arrested by police in the sex racket, which was busted about a fortnight ago with the arrest of a woman from Janipura on the disclosure of a minor girl whom she was alleged to have forced into prositution. The girl, who had about a fortnight ago jumped from a moving motorcycle near Domana, had narrated police her woe of tales and how she was forced into prostitution by a woman. When she had jumped from the motorcycle, she was being taken by the youth to an undisclosed location to get physical with her.On her disclosure, police had arrested Santosh Parihar, wife of Vijay Kumar, from her residence at Durga Nagar, Janipura. Before coming to Jammu, the girl stayed with her uncle at Kishtwar following the death of her parents. Santosh visited her uncle's residence some time back and brought her to Durga Nagar on the plea of engaging her as a domestic help. She even promised her uncle to bear all the expenses of her marriage. At Durga Nagar, where she allegedly ran a brothel, she forced the girl into prostitution, police sources said.On Santosh's disclosure, police picked up eight persons, including a junior engineer from Khoo Wali Gali area of Trikuta Nagar and paraded them before the girl. The girl identified four of them and they were arrested, the sources added. They were identified as Deepak Gupta, son of Ravi Kumar of Talab Tillo, Sanjeev Singh, son of Ravinder Singh of ward No 3, Deod, Pawan Gupta, son of Kasturi Lal of Purani Mandi, and Saroj, wife of Hari Krishan of Kishtwar.SDPO, Domana, Divakar Singh said more accused were likely to be arrested in the case. |
