IAS aspirant including two conmen arrested | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 18: Nehru Market police arrested two conmen for duping lakhs of rupees from several people. The duo was nabbed in a raid that was conducted in a Nehru Market based hotel here today. From their possession police recovered six mobile handsets, gold ornaments worth lakhs ,Rs 5000, one book of IAS exam and an admit card of Union Public Service Commission . Police also recovered several obscene photographs and videos of boys and girls from them. SP South Rajeshwar Singh said that two men were arrested by police for allegedly posing as religious gurus and duping residents of Gandhi Nagar area in Jammu, The cheats have been identified as Jamshed Ahmed alias Sahil and his associate Musharaff Ali, an IAS aspirant, both residents of UP.They were arrested in a raid at Haj House, senior police officer informed. The action was taken on a complaint of a woman that two cheats fraudulently took away her gold ornaments worth Rs 35,000 and cash Rs 5,000, he added. The cheats used to pose as Babas and give assurances about love affairs, matrimonial, disputes and personal problems to people, said the SP. They used to give advertisements in local newspapers offering solutions to the problems of people. A case under section 420 RCP has been registered against them at Gandhi Nagar police station. |
