Cover up for Yatra completed, Sadbavana programs to continue: Gurdeep Singh

Anantnag, June 19: While expressing satisfaction over Sadbavan programs GOC Victor Force Maj. General Gurdeep Singh today said that the army has completed all the arrangements related to Amarnath Yatra commencing from June 29.
Talking to media on the sidelines of the function Maj General Gurdeep Singh said, “We have completed all the arrangements of security cover up, on the hilly stretches, leading towards Amarnath cave.”
He expressed satisfaction over the ongoing programs of Sadbavana and said that the army will continue its Sadbavana programs. While addressing a gathering of students, who returned from 12 days Sangam tour today, organized by 1 Sector RR, GOC encouraged and congratulated students for the successful completion of the tour and motivated the students to accomplish a better and bright future for themselves, the state and the country as a whole .
“1 Sector RR Sadhbhavana organized an educational cum motivational tour for 35 children from various schools of Kulgam & Anantnag districts from June 5 to June 17, with an aim to expose young minds to the rich and diverse culture and secular nature of our country and provide them with an opportunity to understand that peace and harmony usher economical and technological progress of a nation.” An Army spokes person said, adding that the students visited various historical sites and monuments such as Bahu Fort at Jammu, Madras Regtl Centre, Rose Garden, Ooty Lake, Dodabetta Peak, Highland Tea Factory, Lamb’s Rock & Coonoor at Wellington and Infosys Campus, Bangalore Palace, Tipu Sultan Palace, Vishvesvaraya Industrial & Technical Museum, Cubbon Park, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium.
During tour students also interacted with the Governor Hans Raj Bhardwajwas.
“The tour was flagged-in by Maj Gen Gurdeep Singh, GOC, Victor Force. An enthusiastic and overwhelming response was received from the students and their parents as they together expressed their gratitude to the Army for providing this rare and exceptional opportunity to witness other parts of the country as the students pledged to work towards achieving peace, harmony and progress of the country.” Army spokesman said adding that the education tour for the children is another milestone towards Army’s relentless efforts to promote peace, harmony and development in the state
