Meeting people’s developmental aspirations govt’s top agenda: Bhalla

JAMMU, June 19:
Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla, today said that the Government has taken various innovative measures for improving the living standard of the people especially those living in rural and sub-urban areas of the State adding that fulfilling of people’s aspirations and developmental needs is top agenda of the Government.
The Minister was interacting with locals after launching Rs. 32 lakh development projects at Dashmash Nagar, Green Avenue, Govind Nagar in Digiana and Gangyal, here today.
Bhalla assured the locals that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner. He said the Government was determined to provide better basic amenities to the people of the State adding for this purpose the Government has launched several projects to modernize basic services across the State.
The Minister said crores of rupees have been earmarked for construction of recreational parks, bridges, flyovers, tube wells, receiving stations, hospitals, schools and roads across Jammu city and its peripheries.
He said sectors like PHE, health, R&B, education, tourism, power among other sectors have received focused attention of the Government. He said that it was due to pro-people policy of the government that the masses at present are benefited by quality education, healthcare, drinking water, electricity and road connectivity.
Later, at Gandhi Nagar hospital, in connection with 41st birth anniversary of young and dynamic Member Parliament Rahul Gandhi, the Minister inaugurated one-day blood donation camp organized by National Rahul Gandhi Youth Brigade.
About 50 volunteers donated blood at the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla asked the organizers to step up efforts to eradicate social evils from the society. “Motivate the youth to keep away from addiction which is consuming the vitals of future generation. Need of the hour is to make collective efforts to bring social reforms for the emancipation of the mankind”, he added.
