Leading businessman sent to 4 days police remand | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 19: The leading businessman Madan Lal Aggarwal alias Madan Baniya, who was arrested yesterday for cheating a pilgrim, today sent to 4 days police remand after the Duty Magistrate rejected his bail plea. Keeping in view the pending inquiry, the Duty Magistrate rejected the plea of Aggarwal and his manager. Madan Lal Aggarwal and his manager Madan Lal were arrested for selling the blankets to a pilgrim Raj Shrivastva son of Adit Narayan of Hirapura, Kabir Road, Varanasi on exorbitant rates. Acting on a complaint lodged by the tourist, City police verified the rates and it was established that the showroom owned by Aggarwal had sold the items on higher rates thereby cheating the complainant. In his complaint the pilgrim said that a blanket which actually cost Rs 3600 had been sold to him on exorbitant rate of Rs 7200. City police registered a case under section 420, 6/11 RPC against Aggarwal and his manager. The manager is at present cooling his feet in police lock up while businessman has been admitted in GMC hospital after he complaint of chest congestion. Police is hopeful of more revelations on their interrogation.
