Refugee status sought for all J&K refugees from POK

JAMMU, June 20: In a strong rejoinder to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Banki Moon, Professor Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party and Member, National Integration Council demanded Refugees Status for all the so-called migrants from Mirpur, Bhimber, Poonch, Rawalakote, Muzaffrabad, Askardu, Gilgit and other areas of POK, Gilgit-Baltistan who have been languishing refugees without their recognition as such and treated for 60 years as migrants on the records of hostile and anti-Dogra Government of J&K.
Addressing a big rally of the J&K Migrants in Delhi, on the occasion of United Nations Refugee Day being 20thJune, the Supremo of the Panthers Party said that there are over one million refugees from POK and other occupied areas of Pakistan and China languishing in Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad and other places in the country with no recognition as the Refugees by India or by the United Nations.
He said that one million refugees in J&K who have lost their movable and immovable property in POK in 1947-48, again in 1965 and 1971 are being treated just as migrants by the government of J&K which has remained hostile to the entire Jammu-Dogra Pradesh.
He said that the Panthers Party shall launch an international movement to mobilize the members of the United Nations and the Security Council to secure refugee status for all those who were forced to leave their homes because of the brutal massacre in 1947. He expressed shock that the Indian leadership including Congress and BJP deliberately picked up the Kashmiri leadership stands by ignoring the plight of these refugees.
Professor Bhim Singh also urged UN Secretary-General, Banki Moon to ensure equitable supply of relief to the Palestinian refugees and their descendents starving in Gaza Strip since 1948 who were turned out at gun-point by the Jews from occupied Palestine.
Professor Bhim Singh declared that Panthers Party shall launch awareness campaign about the plight of the Pakistani refugees and migrants from POK and Kashmir who deserve humane treatment as citizens of the largest democracy of the world, India.
