PCC, Singh-B win in Pawan Memorial Cricket

JAMMU, June 20: Patoli Badshah Cricket Club (PCC) Jammu and Singh-B Club Akhnoor won the opening matches in the Pawan Memorial (T20) Cricket Tournament, organised by Singh Cricket Club at Akhnoor.
In the first match, PCC trounced MCC Jammu by six wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, MCC bowled out for 143 runs. Neeraj was top scorer with 56 runs while Atul Sharma contributed 18. Mohit and Mahavir were most successful bowlers from PCC with two wickets each.
In reply, PCC chased the total in 17 overs for the loss of four wickets. Mahavir played match winning innings of unbeaten 88. From MCC, Rahul claimed one wicket. For his match winning performance, Mahavir was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile, in other match of the day, Singh B Akhnoor defeated Thati Cricket Club by 49 runs.
Earlier, Singh B won the toss and decided to bat first made 175 runs losing all their wickets. Skipper Vikas Bali and Sahil Pawar added 90 runs for the first wicket partnership. While Vikas made 22-ball 47 runs, Sahil added 32. Vipin contributed 30 runs to the total. From Thati Club, Bunty and Shotu bagged two and one wicket respectively.
Batting second, Thati could make only 126 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Arjun Bharti was top scorer with unbeaten 53. Jyoti Parkash and Sahil Pawar shared two wickets each. Vipin also bagged two wickets. Later, Vikas Bali was adjudged man of the match.

Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Block Medical Officer (BMO), Dr Nagendra Singh and Station House Officer (SHO), Naresh Sharma. Chairman Akhnoor Cricket Committee was also present.
It was informed by the organizers that the winner of the tournament will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 in addition to handsome prizes to other individual performances.
