Army-public bond washing out militancy in Rajouri Poonch | | | Amit Sharma EARLY TIMES REPORT Rajouri, June 20 Army Commander Brigadier Balraj Mehta has said that army –civilian bond has cracked the militancy in Rajouri Poonch and this bond will be strengthen more in near future to completely wash out militancy from this state. He said that Sadbhavana programmes have also played a vital role in bridging gap between the people and the army. Addressing concluding ceremony of Adventure Camp at Nowshera, Balraj Mehta said that militants have received major jolt in Poonch Rajouri due to army-public relation and this bond has played major role in cracking militants network in whole of this state. He said that in order to completely wash out the militancy, army is trying to engage youth in constructive work and strengthen public army bond. Meanwhile given details, army spokesman told Early Times that the 50 children of Naoshera participated in this Adventure camp. The camp was joint effort of Rumulidhara, Kalal and Nowshera Battalion of Army . In the camp rock climbing, rappelling, angling, camping, field cooking, river crossing, and tracking besides many other similar exciting and adventurous activities were taken up for trainning. Sahil Chaudhary a child from Kalsian, Naoshera stated that “today we are so happy to have got this wonderful opportunity which otherwise may not have been possible”. Robin Singh Mehta, Director Jammu and Kashmir Tourism also extended his help in the successful conduct of the event. Naoshera is a small township in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. This town is in close proximity to Line of Control due to which the overall development of this place has not taken place. The employment and education opportunities available to the population are far very less. Therefore the endeavour of Army apart from its operational Task in this area is to spread awareness in the Youth and motivate them for self development and hence guide them by various means like Agricultural Tour, Medical Camps, Veterinary Camps etc for overall development of the society
