SSJAC lodges protest against JU admin, seeks action against OSD | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jun 20: Students Scholars Joint Action Committee today lodged a strong protest in the Jammu University and burnt effigy of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for not paying any heed to the problem of the students in University of Jammu. Lodging a strong protest in the JU near fountain plazas, students demanded immediate suspension of the Deepanker Sen Gupta OSD to Controller for slapping a student during the pre-Ph.D Exam of the Buddhists Studies. SSJAC said that Gupta has become Professor by flouting norms of the JU and requested the Governor to initiate an inquiry regarding his undue promotion during the regime of the former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Amitabh Mattoo. Briefing media, Mohinder pal Pandu said that Lovejeet Singh who was assaulted by the professor suffered serious injury on shoulder and got two stitches on shoulder and one on the neck .SSJAC also asked Jammu university to explain entrance of Irfan Ghoni into the Examination Centre without any permission Meanwhile, examiner of the Pre PhD exam Prof. V N Labh has also given in writing that Prof Deepanker slapped the student without any Justification. Beside this other students who were appearing in the exam have already made written complaints in the DSW office of the JU. Meanwhile, Faiz Ahmed Scholar Dogri also maintained that Deepanker also slapped him during their examination of M Phil. Others who were present in the protest included Jat Singh , Nasib Ali, Ajay Sharma , Pankaj Sharma , Kapil Shastri , Raman singh .Saurav Pathania , Sonam, Tajinder Lovejeet Singh Jimmy and many others .
