4 killed, 4 hurt as Tavera car falls into gorge near Banihal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT jammu, June 20: Four persons were killed and as many others wounded, some of them critically, when a Tavera vehicle in which they were travelling today skidded off the national highway at Hengni near Ramsoo in Banihal and plunged into a deep gorge.The ill-fated Tavera (JK03C/1843) was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar. It fell into a deep gorge at Hengni after driver lost control over it while negotiating a sharp curve, resulting in the instant death of four persons and injuries to four others, police sources said. Three of the dead were identified as Sunder Lal, son of Ram Chander of Shastri Nagar, Jammu, Ajaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman of Kokernag, and Mohammad Sultan of Hazratbal. Identity of the fourth was yet to be established. The injured were identified as Azmina Begum, wife of Dr Zafoor, Shahbaz Sultan, son of Mohammad Sultan, both residents of Shalimar, Srinagar, Imtiyaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Aziz Gani of Nawakadal, Srinagar and Shambhu Nath, son of Jagdish Raj of Channi Himmat. All of them were hospitalised. |
