SSP reviews security arrangements | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, JUNE 21:To discuss various security related issues with regard to ensuing Amarnath Yatra-2011, Senior Superintendent of Police, Udhampur Surinder Gupta convened a joint meeting of police, traffic CRPF and Intelligence Agencies. A detail power point presentation was given about the security arrangements made for smooth and peaceful conduct of the yatra from Solora to Patnitop, scheduled to commence from June 29. The SSP said that the landslide areas have been identified besides, nakas and Check Posts to keep surveillance on anti-national and anti social elements are being set up. He said to meet any emergency situation, camping sites like educational institutions and other lodgments along the National Highway have been identified and would be used for yatris in case they are required to be accommodated in the event of blockade of road or any other problem. He also said that the Recovery vehicles are being positioned at TCP and Patnitop, while Joint yatra Control Room has been setup at Dak Bungalow Udhampur where representatives from Civil and Police would oversee the yatra . The representatives of CRPF and police would be located in PCR Udhampur where Army telephone facility is also available. Frequent checking and search operations are being launched in the suspected areas on the National Highway with the assistance of CRPF already engaged for ROP duty, he added. Among others, CO, CRPF 137 Bn, J. Majumdar, CO CRPF, 187 Bn, Mr. M.P Bahuguna, Dy Sp, HQ , Suram Singh, Dy SP Traffic Udhampur, Madit Hamid, Dy SP Staff to DIG, Amant Ali Shah, Dy SP, CID(SB) Udhampur, B.L Sharma, Dy SP , Civil Defence, Bodh Raj and other officers attended the meeting.
