SP hails centre for approval highest budget for J&K | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 21: State unit of Samajwadi party (SP) while hailing the central government for approving the largest ever budget of Rs 6600 crore to Jammu and Kashmir has said that there should be proper accountability how the money is being spent. Addressing a meeting of the office bearers, state president of party Sheikh Abdul Rehman said that corruption is main issue haunting the policy makers in the state. He urged the government to ensure that liberal flow of funds by the centre is utilized as per judicious planning and is not allowed to be misused by the officers on ground. Rehman said that while the state has reportedly prepared a list of about 150 top corrupt bureaucrats but instead of taking stringent action against them, they have been allocated top lucrative positions in the administration. He appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take strict action against corrupt officials and has regretted that no action has been taken against the people involved in looting the state exchequer.
