| PDP asks upon admin to address people’s problems | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, June 21: Peoples’ Democratic Party today warned the district administration to change its ‘callous’ attitude and come forward to address the public problems of the locals or ready to face the mass agitation.
Addressing the media persons here today, Peoples’ Democratic Party district Kathua unit President Surinder Singh alleged that district administration Kathua has failed on all fronts to address the public problems.
Singh said that the district Kathua which is the gateway of Jammu and Kashmir is facing ‘official apathy’ .
Due to the negligence of the administration the common man of the district Kathua is facing lot of problems including inadequate power supply, shortage of water, the dilapidated condition of entire road network in the district, he added.
PDP leader also alleged that the people who come to secretariat have to face the harassment by the secretariat employees.
Pollution is another major problem in Kathua as there is no check on it by the government agencies, he said .Areas like Sawan Chack, Tara Nagar, Hatli More, Govindsar, and several parts of Kathua town are intensively under the threat of industrial pollution.
He also lambasted revenue department for not working properly and addressing the problems of the people .
Others who presented on the occasion included Vinod Gupta, Jagdeep Singh, Sanjay Singh and Anil Sharma .
