EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 21: Even after 16 months, the family of Avtar Singh, whose body was found mysteriously, are awaiting justice.
It is not that investigation has not been conducted by the police, but all the evidences are gathering dust in the FSL lab. Avtar Singh , a labourer working at Bishnah was found dead in a nallah.

The father of the deceased, Tirath Singh said that his son was found dead in canal near Chorli village teshil Bishnah on February 3, 2010, where he was working as a labourer in loading-unloading of fertilizer.

“Before death, two people working with my son namely Manhor Lal and Bittu Ram came to our house and asked about my son and later after few hours, Avtar was found dead”, he said.
He added that the sequence of events have already been informed to the police after the death of his son.
He further said that at that time (SHO) R.P.S Manhas incharge police station Bishnah was investigating the case, but there is every possibility that the investigation was conducted in an unprofessional manner.
Tirath disclosed that after a month of his son’s death they asked SHO Bishnah to investigate the case by enquiring from Manohar Lal and Bittu Ram, his colleagues, but SHO Manhas said that they will start investigation after seeking the postmortem report. He said that they got it after four months later but the SHO did not take any step to further investigate the case.
16 months is long wait and family says that police is not sincere about booking the culprits involved in the alleged murder of Avtar Singh.
Official source said that few days ago concerned police arrested two suspected persons namely Monhorar Lal and Bittu Ram and after four days of questioning police released both of them.
It is pertinent to mention here that even the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and doctor who did postmortem said that reports didn’t clear any cause of death. Tirath added that the court also summoned the doctor in the court but the doctor got transferred as per his wishes from the Bishnah Hospital.
Singh said that they also met present SP Headquarter Shailinder Singh who assured them to investigate the case from the beginning.
