Government Women College, Gandhinagar bagged first prize in the Group Song Indian
Competition organized by the Dept of Students Welfare, University of Jammu under the ongoing “Display Your Talent Contest 2006-07” here today.
In the jam packed Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, the participants from University of Jammu and its affiliated colleges received big applause from audiences on their presentation of Group Song. Each team was required to present two group songs out of which one was folk song. Maximum time limit was ten minutes while number of accompanists allowed were three.
In the said contest GWC, Parade and Institute of Music and Fine Arts secured second and third position respt. The certificates of Merit were awarded to GWC, Udhampur, GDC, Thanamandi and Beacon College of Education.
Prof N.R. Sharma, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, Dr. P.S. Pathania, DSW, Dr. Shohaib Inyat Malik, Asstt. DSW were also supervised the programme. The contest was conducted by Amita Malhotra and Shahnawaz.
