After burglary, robbers loot woman at gunpoint

JAMMU: After committing a burglary in broad-day light in the house of a police havaldar at Luxmipuram near Chinore here today, armed youth robbed his sister-in-law at gunpoint after she appeared on the scene and asked who they were.
The decoits, who number was not yet confirmed, entered the house of Avtar Krishan, a havaldar in crime branch of state police, by breaking the doors open at about 4 pm when he and his family members were not at home, police sources said.
They stole gold ornaments worth lakhs, cash and other items from the house. However, while they were leaving, Avtar's sister-in-law Daya Koul happened to come there.
Sources said when she stood in their way and asked who they were, they robbed her of her earrings at gunpoint. Later, they fled the spot in a Maruti car and on a motorcycle, the sources added.
Though police had registered a case in this connection, the accused were yet to be identified.
