GCC wins inaugural tie in Shashi Pal Cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 22: Gajansoo Cricket Club (GCC) won the inaugural match of the Ist Shashi Pal Memorial Cricket Tournament got underway at Khearian cricket ground, Gole Gujral, here. In the opening tie, GCC defeated Bantalab Bombers Cricket Club (BBCC) by nine runs. Earlier, batting first after loosing the toss, GCC made 179 runs losing all their wickets in given 20 overs. Rinku remained top scorer with 32-ball 50 runs. From Bantalab, Rahul and Yasheen clinched two wickets each. In reply, BBCC could not reach the required target and the whole side bowled out for 170 runs. Rinku was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Ashank Cricket Club (ACC) outplayed Durga Nagar Cricket Club (DNCC) by 54 runs. Batting first, ACC made 209 runs in stipulated 20 overs. Hunny and Ashank were the top scorers while Vishal, Satinder and Varinder took three wickets each from DNCC. Later, chasing the target, DNCC bowled all out for 154 runs thereby lost the match by 54 runs. Ashank Bhardwaj bagged man of the match title.
