EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 22: Grappled with the 'shortage' of top Civil Service officers, the State Government has requested the Central Government to send back the IAS officers, who were on deputations at present with the Government of India.
According to well placed sources, since the pending tasks in various departments are 'lingering' on due to the crunch of top brass of Civil Servants, the state government has written a letter asking the Union Government to send back the IAS officers belonging to J&K Cadre, who are deputed with different Departments in the Centre.
"About 18 IAS officers at present are on deputation due to which various departments are facing difficulties in accomplishing the official task," the sources added.
"Fifteen IAS officers are on Central Deputation, one on inter-cadre deputation, one with Government of India and one is on study leave," they added.
The IAS officers of J&K Cadre who are on deputation include Anil Goswami (Additional Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs), Pankaj Jain (Additional Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation), Sonali Kumar, Principal Secretary (Coordination) RC Office, New Delhi, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GoI), Rakesh Kumar Gupta (Additional Secretary, UPSC).
Besides, L D Jha (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs), P K Tripathi (Advisor, National Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs), Sundeep K Nayak (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Government of India), Arun Kumar Mehta (Chief Vigilance Officer, Dedicated Freight Corridor, Corporation of India Ltd, New Delhi), Ashok Kumar Parmar (Director, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI), Dheeraj Gupta (Private Secretary to Defence Minister, GoI), Navin Kumar Choudhary (Advisor to Executive Director (India), International Monetary Fund, Washington DC), Rohit Kansal (Private Secretary to the Minister of New and Renewable Energy), Shailender Kumar (Deputy Secretary, Department of Agriculture Cooperation, GoI), Farooq Ahmed Factoo (Director Census Operations, Ministry of Home Affairs, J&K, Jammu) are also on deputation, the sources added.
Meanwhile, Hridesh Kumar is on Inter-Cadre Deputation to Uttar Pradesh, Mandeep Kaur is Additional Private Secretary with Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Parvez Dewan is on study leave from October 13, 2004 and is due to return sometime in 2011.
