Sham reviews progress of health projects | ‘Directs agencies to complete works timely’ | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar June 22: Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma today reviewed the progress of various on-going health projects at a high level meeting of officers here. It was informed in the meeting that works amounting to Rs.1500 crores are in progress in different districts of the State. The status of all the works was reviewed and discussed in detail. The Minister stressed on maintaining the quality of work as per the specifications. He directed the executing agencies to accomplish the projects in a time bound manner. He directed the planning wing of the Health Department to ensure timely release of funds for all the projects, enabling speedy completion of projects.
The Minister stressed on close coordination among different agencies to remove bottlenecks if any. He directed the Director Health Services to personally monitor the progress of the works and undertake spot visits frequently. He directed for early taking over of all the completed projects. The Minister issued clear cut instructions to the engineers to do future planning strictly as per the population criteria, keeping in view atleast 50 years expansion provision. He also directed for timely submission of utilization certificates to ensure free flow of funds. Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education, Suresh Kumar, Managing Director, J&K Housing Board, Daleep Thussu, Managing Director JKPCC, S.T. Mustaffa, Director Indian System of Medicine, Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Jammu, Dr. Saleem-ur- Rehman, Dr. Ashok Sharma, Chief Engineers, R&B, Kashmir, Jammu Nazir Ahmed, D.L. Sharma, Joint Director, Planning, Tariq Ahmed and other senior officers of various engineering wings were present in the meeting.
