| Safai Karamchari Union, Kathua staged protest | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, June 22: The Safai Karamchari Union of Kathua staged a protest dharna in the premises of the Municipal Committee Kathua in support of their long pending genuine demands under the leadership of Sawan Chita and accused the director local bodies Jammu for ignoring their genuine demands like regularization of daily wagers/casual workers who have completed more than 7 years service in the concerned department, Payment of 2 ½ days extra pay for working on Sundays and holidays on the pattern of health and PDD Department, and etc. while the administration of the local bodies accepted many times to full fill the demands immediately but nothing have been done by the local bodies so far.
They further stressed that their protest dharna will continue in support of their demand and warned that government should be ready to face any dire consequences if the demands are not accepted.
In the protest dharna the vice president Tarsem Lal, general secretary Rafiq, Rani David Masih, Subash Kokar, Thana Masih and etc. were present.
