| Woman "burns" self to death | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 22: A woman allegedly burnt herself to death in a field at Gadi Garh near here today.
Quoting eyewitnesses, police sources said Savitri Devi of Gadi Garh went to her field in the village and allegedly set herself afire after pouring petrol on her. Some locals, who saw her in flames, ran to her rescue and extinguished the fire. With the help of family members, who also reached there after hearing about the incident, they later removed her to the GMC hospital where she died.
She was said to be mentally insane. Police had, however, registered a case in this connection. |
