| Fraudulent' withdrawal of Rs 5 lacs BDO Bishnah, officials in in VOJ net | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 22: Vigilance Organization after verification conducted reveals that Sita Ram then Block Development Officer Bishnah, Sushil Kumar then Junior Engineer, Subash Chander then Village Level Worker and Kewal Krishan then Accountant/ Cashier in the office of BDO Bishnah in the year 2006 entered into a criminal conspiracy and dishonestly, fraudulently, with the criminal intention withdrew payment of Rs 4.98 lacs against construction and lane and drain at Chak Assal Bishnah in the name of one Ashok Kumar.
On the basis of fake signature of Ashok Kumar and also misappropriated amount of Rs 1, 83, 953/- were showing fake measurements in the measurement book in respect of the work thereby causing wrongful loss to the state exchequer and wrongful gain to the accused persons.
According to the FIR then BDO Bishnah Sita Ram issued work order on March 15, 2006 on the basis of a fake resolution prepared by Subash Chander VLW showing allotment of work of construction of lane and drain at Chak Hassal Bishnah in the name of one Ashok Kumar for an estimated amount of Rs 5 lacs. Kewal Krishan then Accountant/ Cashier did not make payment of Rs 4.98 lacs to Ashok Kumar which has been drawn in the name of Ashok Kumar and signature of Ashok Kumar was forged on the cash book. On this verification a case u/s 5(1) (d) 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 r/w sections 467/468/471/120-B RPC registered against Sita Ram then Block Development Officer Bishnah, Sushil Kumar then Junior Engineer, Subash Chander then Village Level Worker and Kewal Krishan then Accountant/ Cashier in the office of BDO Bishnah and started investigation but no arrest has been made so far.
