PUC for opening bank branches in every block | | | EARLY TIOMES REPORT SRINAGAR JUNE 23: Public Undertaking Committee (PUC) of Legislative Assembly on Thursday asked the J & K Bank management to open their branches in every block of the State with priority at Teethwal, Lungnak and Tresphone. The Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of Mr. Rafi Ahmad Mir discussed the audit para pertaining to J&K Bank regarding non adherence of terms and conditions of loan and policy of the bank. The Committee also sought official record about Non Performing Assets (NPA) for its examination so that a clear view of its properties comes to fore. The Chairman directed organizing of camps to clear backlog of loan cases at block levels. The Committee expressed dissatisfaction over the replies furnished by the bank. The panel asked them to avoid recurrence of observations in future as raised in CAGs report and fix responsibility on the erring officials. Legislators, Mr. Kafeel-ur-Rehman, Mr. Mohammad Irfan Shah, Mr. Feroze Ahmad Khan, Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Jan, Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Mr. Jugal Kishore, Adv Abdul Haq, Mr. Charanjit Singh, Mr. Muhammad Yousuf Taing and Mr. Muhammad Amin Bhat gave their suggestions for the improvement of the bank functioning and settlement of audit paras. Commissioner/Secretary, Finance Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey, briefed the meeting about the performance of the bank and concept of Khidmat Centres. He informed that 450 Khidmat Centre are presently functional and added all such centers are targeted to be completed this fiscal. Principal Accountant General, Director General, Accounts and Treasuries Mr.Wali Muhammad Bhat, Vice President (Govt Business/ Priority Sector) J&K Bank Mr. Abdul Rouf Bhat and other concerned senior officers of Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
