Plus 2 lecturers demand regularization | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 23: All Jammu and Kashmir Plus 2 Lecturers Forum today urged the government to start regularization of the teachers as promised in the Cabinet decision of May 29, 2010. Addressing a meeting of the members, forum president H.D Qureshi, said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had promised them that the process will start soon, but so far there is no positive signal from the administration. “Delay in the regularization of in charge lecturers, principals and other officers is a matter of serious concern as hundreds of lecturers are waiting for the decision of the government”, Qureshi said. During a day long educational conference organised by Rauf Dar, district president at Rajouri, several issues confronting the teachers were discussed and deliberations were held to make a new strategy to pursue the matter with the government. The meeting demanded upgradation of higher secondary schools as intermediate colleges and placement of plus 2 lecturers in Pay band no 3. Meeting also unanimously passed a resolution stressing upon the government for implementation of decision and announcements with regard to the grievances of the cadre. On the occasion, forum also hailed the efforts being made by the Director School Education (DSE) Jammu, H.D Qureshi in raising the standard of the education in the schools. They extended their total support to the efforts of the department.
