| Poorav Sainik return after paying tributes to martyrs of Kargil War | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 23: A team of 47 retired soldiers ranking from lowest range of a constable to a highest rank of a general of Army and equivalent rank of Navy and Air force including ladies from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujrat, M.P., U.P, A.P., Karnataka, Rajasthan states return today after paying their tributes to 524 martyrs of 1999 Kargil War, Drass and Kargil war memorial .
In addition the team paid homage to the martyrs of 1948] 1952] 1965 and 1971 Wars and militancy at Srinagar Gumri and Udhampur War memorial.
Today a meeting of Poorav Sainik of District Udhampur was held which was presiding by Lt. Col. S Kumar and addressing by Lt. General (Retd.) V.M. Patil who headed the team while addressing the members he said that the aim of this Yatra was to pay homage to the Martyrs who made supreme sacrifices for the safety of motherland, honor the martyrs families, to bust the moral of serving soldiers and motivate the youth to join defence services and enhance the membership. He congratulates colonel Juneja and Dr. Om Prakash who coordinate this event and made it a great success.
Col. Juneja the founder member and national secretary who coordinating this event, Col. Har Goving Singh, Lt. Col. K.N. S. Sambyal, Lt. Col. H.S. Sambyal, Lt. Col. S Kumar, Subedar Durga Dass, Hon. Capt. Rashpal and Thakur Dass and many other ex-servicemen were present.
On this occasion Col. Har Goving Singh was elected as a President of Udhampur Unit of Poorav Sainik .
