BJP holds public meet to discuss countrywide corruption | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 24: As part of party’s country-wide campaign launched against corruption, scams, and black money in foreign banks and Jammu and Kashmir BJP organized a public meeting at Trikuta Nagar. BJP Kissan Morcha National President Om Prakash Dhankad, who was the main speaker on the occasion, said that scam after scam has come into light during the Congress-led UPA which involves thousands of crores of rupees. Not only this, large amount of Indian money has been stashed in foreign banks and the government has failed to take effective steps to bring it back. If the money deposited in foreign banks is brought back, poverty will be wiped out. He said the farmers in the country are going to face more hardships in the coming days as the new Seed Procurement Policy has been framed keeping in mind the interests of the multi-national companies. He said that the tempo of the party cadres against the anti-people policies of the government need to be accelerated and our campaign will continue till 2014 general elections. BJP state President Shamsher Singh Manhas said that the menace of corruption has not left Jammu and Kashmir state untouched. Ministers of ruling coalition have become rich over night. Our state will soon achieve the distinction of being the most corrupt state in India as numbers of its ministers are involved in corrupt practices. Corruption cases are pending against many ministers, ex-ministers and bureaucrats. Ministers and bureaucrats are involved in land grabbing cases but there is no one to take serious action. Just cases are referred to Vigilance Organization and the files keep biting dust for years together. He asked the party activists to get themselves adequately equipped with the details of corruption cases and brief the people around them about the same. BJP senior leader Daya Krishan Kotwal said that the only mean to end the corruption in the state is to reach the masses, make them aware of the prevailing corruption and bring them together so that a strong message is conveyed that the people have made up their mind to fight tooth and nail the government which promotes corruption and shields such elements. National executive member & Jammu East MLA Ashok Khajuria said that record breaking funds are poured into the state every year but their fate remains unknown. High claims of development and ending unemployment are made and centre approached for increase in annual funds. Later, these funds are misused and find place in the pockets of high ups in the government. The centre never dares to ask as to what has happened to these funds and where they have been spent. In these days when there is need of regular supply of electricity, it is being diverted to valley, thus adding to the problems of the Jammuites, which is indeed unfortunate. Jitendra Singh, Chander Mohan Sharma, Suresh Jamwal, Satish Sharma, Sat Sharma, Usha Choudhary, Kavinder Gupta, Bansi Lal Bharti, Amar Nath Gupta, Yudhvir Sethi, Surinder Sharma, Munish Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Suraj Padha, Jasbir Singh Lucky, Sukhnandan Kumar (MLA), Aseem Gupta, Vikram Randhawa, Jaideep Sharma, Vinay Gupta, Karan Singh, Sanjay Baru, Surinder Choudhary, Shubh Chander Verma, Subhash Jandial, Ravinder Gupta, Priya Sethi, Narsingh Dass, Dinesh Gupta, Sunil Dogra, Arun Khosla, Parduman Singh, Sat Pal Choudhary, Sudarshan Trilochan, Anuradha Charak, Vijay Kumar Bali were prominent among those who were present in this public meeting.
