IGP reviews security arrangements for Amarnath Yatra 2011 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JUNE 24: Inspector General of Police Mr. Dilbagh Singh on Friday convened a meeting of senior Police officers besides other officers from various departments in Police Control Room Jammu to review the security arrangements for Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra-2011 commencing from June 29 this year. Threadbare discussions were held to review the security arrangements made for the systematic conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji yatra. IGP while reviewing the arrangements, asked the officers to make sincere efforts for providing all basic amenities to Shri Amarnath Yatries at various transit and lodging centres across Jammu city to ensure their comfortable stay before leaving for the destinations. Mr. Dilbagh Singh emphasized for establishing joint control room for better and close coordination with other agencies to ensure smooth conduct of holy pilgrimage. He advised the police officers to ensure humane approach while dealing with public and cautioned them to remain extra vigilant and stern while dealing with criminals and anti-social elements. The meeting was informed about measures taken by the security forces to check and plug the infiltration from across the border. Anti militancy operations launched by the police were also discussed. IGP was apprised by the Police Officers about the overall security scenario in their respective districts and the steps being taken to further gear up the security arrangements. A detailed presentation was also made about all the arrangements made for smooth conduct of Yatra through out Jammu Zone. The meeting was attended among others by IG CRPF, DIG Jammu-Kathua Range, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, DIG Doda-Kishtwar Range, DIG CRPF, DIG CID, DIG IRP, DC Jammu, CMO Jammu, senior Police officers, besides officers from Paramilitary /Army and Intelligence agencies.
