KAS aspirants Youth Forum to start an agitation against PSC | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 24: A meeting was held in Jammu university campus which was attended by the KAS aspirants of the state. In the meeting, the recent decision of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission to limit the age from 35 to 30 years in case of general category and 32 in case of reserved categories was thoroughly discussed by the committee which was formed under the name, “KAS Aspirants Youth Forum”. In this meeting Susheel Baba was elected as the chairman of the committee, Muzaffar Wani as secretary, Tarseem as General Secretary and Khalid as organiser. While addressing the gathering, Susheel Baba strongly condemned the recent decision of the PSC to limit the age bar from 35 to 30 and 37 to 32 in case of general and reserved categories respectively. Addressing the large gathering in front of the central library of Jammu University, he said that even the Union Public Service Commission provides a relaxation of 5 years to our state then on what grounds JKPSC has reduced the age bar. Although the aforesaid age bar will be implemented from the next KAS notification, this decision is causing a strong resentment among the KAS aspirants. The meeting was also attended by JURSEA President Rakesh Chib who while addressing the gathering said that PSC has taken the decision without any logic and this should be immediately revoked. The decision was unanimously held that age limit should be in accordance with previous rules in which it was 37 years for the general category and 40 for reserved and in service candidates. It was said by the chairman of the committee that in the state like Jammu and Kashmir it was impossible for rural candidates to compete in the exams with this type of age regulations. Among others the meeting was attended by Rahul, Anu, Inder, Anil, Vishal, Chanchal, Ishfaq, Ashok, and Om Prakash.
