HC directs Mandi PS SHO to trace girl allegedly abducted by "peer"

JAMMU: High court vacation judge, Justice J P Singh today,
in a habeas corpus petition filed by Rano Bibi seeking release of her 15-year-old daughter Shamim Bibi from the illegal custody of Rafiq Ahmed, a peer, and two others, directed SHO of Mandi police
station in Poonch to find out the girl and produce her in the court on the next date of hearing.
In the petition, it was alleged that the girl was in illegal possession of the peer, his brother Mohammad Rashid and Mohammad Hanief.
It was also alleged that Rafiq Ahma alias Mian Rafiq had abducted the minor girl and taken her to Poonch.
After hearing the counsel for the petitioner, the court issued notice to the Mandi police station SHO and directed him to locate the minor girl and produce her in the court on next date of hearing.
