HC stays selection of dental college lecturers | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 24: High court vacation judge, Justice J P Singh today stayed the selection of four lecturers in government dental college, Jammu, till next date of hearing. The court directive came in a writ petition filed by Dr Gourav Gupta and others, challenging the selection of four lecturers in the government dental college, Jammu. It was alleged in the petition that the selected candidates did not possess the requisite experience of registrar/demonstrator/tutor which was mandatory under the provisions of J&K dental education gazetted service recruitment rules, 1993, to become a lecturer. Justice Singh observed that the court considered the submissions of counsels for the parties and gone through the rules referred to by them. The court found prima-facie merit in the petitioner’s submissions and was of the view that the petition needed consideration and hence issued notice. The court directed to list the case in the second week of July, 2011. |
