| EJAC to hold state level conference on June 28 at Srinagar | | | JAMMU, June 24: Jammu and Kashmir State Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) will hold a state level conference in Srinagar on June 28 to chalk out future in support of their demands. Addressing a press conference, EJAC leader Ram Kumar Sharma said that prior to the state level conference on June 27, the prominent members of all the four faction of EJAC led by him, Khursheed Alam, Qayoom Wani and Pardeep Sharma will meet together to exercise a sort of unity so that a united fight could be started to pressurize the state government to implement the agreement signed between employees and the government. He criticized the State Government for back-tracking from the commitment/agreement by not considering the principally agreed demands of the employees. He warned the State Government against the anti-employees and anti-worker attitude and urged upon the State Government to immediately concede the demands of the State Government employees failing which next course of struggle will be announced. Leaders alleged that state is following divide and rule policy and now employees have decided to launch fresh round of protests at all the district and tehsil headquarters against the apathetic attitude of coalition. “At Srinagar convention a common calendar will be chalked out for the massive agitation starting from July, if our demands are not met”, EJAC leaders said. It is important to mention here that employees are organising a convention in summer capital on June 28 which is likely to be attended by thousands of employees from different departments. It is pertinent to mention here that state employees are demanding release of the arrears of 6th Pay Commission at par with the central government employees. They are also demanding removal of pay anomalies, extension of retirement age by two years and increase in the House Rent Allowance (HRA) to equal that of the Central employees. Among others who were present in the press conference included Babu Hussain Malik, Balwan Singh and Madan Sangral beside others.
