| YCC qualifies for final of Poonch Cricket | | | POONCH, June 24: Youth Cricket Club (YCC) today qualified for the final of ongoing Poonch District Cricket Tournament underway at Government Boys Higher Secondary School ground, here under the banner of District Tournament Committee.
In today’s second semi-final, YCC defeated Glamorous Cricket Club (GCC) narrowly by three runs. Batting first, after winning the toss, YCC set a target of 134 runs for the loss of six wickets in given 30 overs. Waheed and Fareed were main contributors to the total with 48 and 30 runs in their respective accounts. From GCC, Rupinder Singh was most successful bowler with three wickets while Sahil Sharma claimed two.
Later, chasing the target, GCC fell short of just three runs when they lost all their wickets in 28.1 overs. Rupinder Singh and Pawan Kumar were top scorers with 33 and 25 (off 18 balls) runs respectively. Fareed and Avtar clinched three wickets each from YCC.
For his all round performance, Fareed was declared man of the match.
