| JKCA to appoint administrative officers | | | SRINAGAR, June 23: To manage the affairs of the financially rich sports body--- Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA)-- in a professional way, the general council of the association, which met under the chairmanship of president, Farooq Abdullah at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, here today unanimously decided to appoint administrative officers for its offices at Jammu and Kashmir. A request in this regard was made by the council members, which got the approval of the president. Furthermore, to boost the existing staff of the JKCA, the general council mooted the idea of pensionary benefits on retirement after setting in place required service rules. In the meantime, Dr Abdullah sanctioned a financial help of Rs two lakh in favour of retired JKCA curator, Mohd Shahban for his services to game of cricket in the state. It was also decided in the meeting that records of all those cricket clubs, who have applied with the Association for affiliation, shall be evaluated by the affiliation committee for submission of detailed report to the extra ordinary general council. Earlier, as per a handout issued here today, the outgoing treasurer, Ahsan Ahmed Mirza presented detailed report of accounts with regard to the expenditure under various heads for the year 2009-10 and 2010-11, which was unanimously approved by the council. “After much deliberation on the status of accounts by former office bearers the council unanimously decided that an enquiry committee headed by Jung Bahadur Singh shall enquire into the financial lapses and disappearance of financial records for the period 1987 to 2003,” the handout mentioned.
