Jammu, June 24: Now, unarguably being distinguished as the trendsetter of the modern idiom in theatrical pursuits, Vikram Sharma’s new concept of “Mellow Meadows” under his theatre of convenience percept once again has gathered unprecedented appreciation.
A group of carefree picnickers enjoying a sojourn in a meadow near a brook suddenly go on board a serious discussion about the place being haunted by spirits who overpower human state of mind forcing it to behave abnormally.
The light conversation turns into a grave debate as the group of boys and girls start turning jittery as most of them refuse to move further.
The entire ambiance turns dramatic as one among them starts behaving indifferently signifying the descent of the omen upon him as he starts “performing”.
Dilshad Shazi, took the centre stage as the performer as he produced the scintillating effect of split personalities within one human being.
The enactment entitled as ‘Chhalava’ and directed by Vikram Sharma highlights five different shades of a human being in search of a common man.
The episode written and conceptualized by Dilshad Shazi was an inspirational truth attached to current human psyche that is broken in different shades while the actual human being feels gagged within.
The actor performed to his potential best in living up to various characters of common man, mad man, victim, advocate and husband.
Though the team of nearly fifteen players formed the audience group while the other picnickers bon te spot became onlookers who earlier presenting a surprised stare became appreciating audience.
“This is out of world attempt. Never could we envisage this kind of theatrical concept in Jammu. It was really mind boggling,” said a newly wed local couple who had come to the venue to enjoy their day out.
The core act before getting started was picked up through a conversation that was held between the two senior artists Neha Lahotra and Aaditya Bhanu who make up the ambience for the enactment while gossiping on the horrors of the haunted spirits.
Though they were joined by the other team also, Neha and Aaditya anchored the subject deftly while producing the environs suited for Dilshad Shazi to perform.
Vikram Sharma the brain behind the show has already to his credit the plays performed as Restaurant Theatre, Home Theatre and Dusking Odyssey in recent past.
