| Sham releases ‘Jammu Heritage’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu June, 24: A book on Jammu Heritage authored by Suraj Saraf, Sr Journalist was released here today at K L Sehgal Hall, Cultural Academy, Complex ,Jammu in a function Jointly organized by Icon Publication and J&K Center for creative Arts ,Jammu.
On the Occasion Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, was the chief guest while Prof. Lalit Magotra , President Dogri Sanstha presided over besides N. D Jamwal eminent Dogri Scholar and Playwright and Suraj Saraf a veteran Journalist of the soil also shared the presidium.
Pardeep Datta of Times Now presented a detailed research paper on the book. The book profusely with appropriate colour photographs and excellently designed Jammu Heritage highlights rich cultural aspects of so for comparatively lesser known Jammu region also termed Dogra Land besides efforts have been made to highlight cultural aspects of every part of this region This book has been compiled by husband wife duo, Suraj Saraf a vetran Journalist and his wife ( she expired last year) Santosh Saraf freelancer contributor of cultural articles in Hindi. The Book has been attractively designed by their son Anil Saraf, who retires last year as HOD Applied Art. from the Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu. Despite its high
Production value it is only moderately priced at Rs 500/ - per Copy .
Sham Lal while congratulating to Saraf said the rare book contains highly informative and knowledgeable with regards to the Heritage of Jammu and utmost need for its wider circulation not in state but outside the state too.
Earlier, Suraj Saraf also spoke on the occasion and highlights continents in respect of Jammu Heritage point of view and also stressed upon the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage of all three the region especially Jammu.
