| LA panel to conduct spot inspection to assess vulnerability | | | SRINAGAR, JUNE 24- House Committee constituted to look into the causes of frequent road incidents in erstwhile Doda district today decided to carry out spot inspection to vulnerable stretches along the road to have first hand appraisal about its degree of vulnerability.
The Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of M.Y Tarigami after threadbare discussion deemed it apt to meet people along the entire stretch as well as interact with officials of traffic, police, transport, Beacon, R&B to evolve a broad based policy for containing the recurrence of road mishaps for good.
The Committee also decided to incorporate advice of experts in the field to put a tab on road mishap phenomenon.
The Chairman said stopping accidents on the road calls for working out efficient strategy for which all inputs need to be examined rationally. He said the problem has thrown up a big challenge for which everything possible needs to be done to save precious human lives.
Legislators, Mohammad Sharief Naiz and Sajad Ahmed Katchloo and other concerned officers of Assembly Secretariat including Secretary Assembly MM. Ramzan attended the meeting.
