Sham lauds BSF for supplementing Medicare in J&K

SRINAGAR, JUNE 24 – Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma has lauded the endeavour of BSF authorities for supplementing healthcare facilities to the civil population across the State. He said BSF, army authorities and other security forces are doing excellent work in the field of health and other social sectors under the Sadbavna programme.
Addressing the senior officers and doctors of BSF at a one-day Medical Seminar-cum-CME organized by the BSF authorities in its campus, here today, the Minister called for close coordination between health department and BSF authorities to extend medicare facilities to the people and families of security forces, especially in the rural and far-flung areas. He said that both the organizations can share the common plate forms by holding medical, blood donation and awareness camps to educate masses about various dreaded diseases like Cancer, AIDS, Leprosy etc. and their preventive measures.
Assuring necessary logistic support to the BSF authorities for carrying out different social activities in the State, the Minister said that Government was keen to promote healthcare in collaboration with organizations willing to render co-operation. The BSF can feel free in approaching the State health department for any kind of support which is aimed at benefiting the mankind. He suggested that doctors of the health department should also be invited in such seminars, which can prove beneficial for both the organizations in improving the capabilities of manpower.
Additional Director General (Medical), BSF, Dr. R.S Rathore informed that aim and objective of the seminar was to keep doctors in the forces up-dated with the latest developments and trends in the field of medicine. He hoped that the experience shared in the seminar will help doctors to enhance their capability and capacity. He called upon the medicos to render their services with dedication and missionary spirit and upholding the medical ethics at all costs. He said doctor’s paramount job is to save the life of his patient, keeping aside other considerations. Medical is the noble profession and it cannot be compared with any other profession on commercial lines, said Dr. Rathore.
