| Soz meets Dr Singh in Delhi | | | Srinagar, June 24 Pradesh Congress Committee President, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, Thursday evening met Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh in New Delhi where they discussed various issues concerning the people. The meeting was held at 7 Race Course Road. In a statement a spokesperson of Congress said, “Among other things, Soz told the Prime Minister that elections to the Panchayats in J&K had contributed quite a lot to democratize the situation at the grass roots level and it had also contributed enormously towards strengthening of the peace process in Jammu and Kashmir State.” “Soz also took the opportunity to apprise the Prime Minister that the Congress Party had performed very well in the Panchayat elections, in all the three regions of the State,” he said. Prof Soz also thanked Prime Minister for taking keen interest in the welfare of the people of J&K State and Government of India’s gesture of funding the J&K State’s development in a ‘generous manner.’
