Mushtaq Memorial Football: SRTC loses in sudden death | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, June 25: The formidable side of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) today suffered defeat in the hands of Railway Protection Force (RPC) in the league round of the ongoing 13th J&K Police Mushtaq Memorial Football Tournament at twin venues of Bakshi Stadium and Polo Ground, here. The RPF could make it a win only in sudden death after both sides played goalless in the stipulated time. The match remained inconclusive in tie-breakers thereby extending the penalty shoot outs till RRP emerged 8-7 winner in one of the closely contested matches of the league round. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Maharaja Sports trounced Syed Taj-U-Din Club by two goals to one and Isad-A registered 4-3 win over DFA Sopore. Another league match of the day ended in favour of West Bengal with visiting side outplayed a local club-YMCA by a solitary goal. In today’s matches, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Armed and Law and Order, K Rajendra Kumar and Inspector General of Police (Armed, Kashmir), Rouf-Ul-Hassan were special guests. FIXTURE: Aarafat Club shall take on Punjab Police at 4 pm while Jahangir Club shall lock horns against West Bengal at 5.30 pm at Bakshi Stadium tomorrow.
