| Guv inaugurates control room for yatries | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, June 25: Governor, N N Vohra Saturday inaugurated a control room setup by the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board for smooth conduct of annual pilgrimage scheduled to start from June 29. The control room is equipped with a 24-hour Helpline to facilitate the yatris. The Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, R K Goyal, said that any person seeking information or help in regard to the forthcoming yatra, can call on 0194-2501679. “Any person wishing to make complaint about the yatra arrangements can also call the control room,” he said. The CEO advised the intending yatris to leave Pahalgam and Baltal Base camps only on the June 29 morning, ‘in the interest of their safety and security.’ He said that pilgrims can also get yatra-related information through the Shrine Board’s website by logging on to www.shriamarnathjishrine.com and also send e-queries online through the website. “Besides other information, the authorized rates for hiring of ponies, pithoos, dandies, dandiwallas and labourers, helicopter fares have also been displayed on the Board’s website,” he added.
