| Camp against drug abuse and illicit trafficking held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 25: Aimed at creating awareness, the social welfare department organised one day awareness camp on “how to save our young generation from the growing menace of drug abuse”, at ICDS Project R S Pura.
More than 100 AWWs and local ladies participated in the camp. During the camp symposium was organised in which information about the menace of drug abuse was highlighted.
SDM R S Pura, A. K Khajuria who was the chief guest on the occasion said that the AWWs can be active force in eradicating the evil of drug abuse from society as they are active functionaries at grass root level.
SDPO R S Pura, H S. Gill and SHO R.S. Pura Bishnesh Kumar also spoke on the occasion and assured full cooperation to the people if the cases of the drug addicts referred to them.
CDPO Jasmeet Singh stressed upon the AWWs to gave the message to community by paying regular visits to the people suffering from the menace.
Newly elected sarpanches, ACDPOs and supervisors of ICDS Project R.S. Pura and some prominent persons of the area also participated in the camp.
